FundedStartupsDaily (the "Service") is operated by Techstone, a Netherlands company ("we", "us", "our"). Our VAT number is NL003342671B02. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We are the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. What We Collect

Data you provide voluntarily

• Email address - if you subscribe to the daily digest via the email capture form, or purchase a CSV export
• Billing information - if you make a purchase, Stripe collects your name, billing address, VAT number (if applicable), and payment method. We do not store card details ourselves; Stripe is our payment processor and is PCI-DSS certified
• Support communications - if you contact us at hello@fundedstartupsdaily.com, we retain the correspondence to respond and improve service

Data collected automatically

• Google Analytics 4 - pageviews, referrers, approximate country, device type, browser. IP addresses are anonymized. No cross-site tracking
• Server logs - standard web request logs including IP address, timestamp, user agent, and requested URL. Retained for security and diagnostic purposes for up to 30 days
• Cookies - see Section 6 below

Data about startups and founders (public sources)

The Service catalogs publicly announced funding rounds, including founder names, titles, and LinkedIn URLs. This information is sourced from publicly available press releases, news articles, and official company announcements. If you are a founder listed on the Service and would like your information removed, contact us at hello@fundedstartupsdaily.com (see Section 8).

2. How We Use Your Data

• To deliver the Service you requested (daily digest emails, CSV downloads)
• To process payments and issue VAT-compliant invoices
• To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics
• To comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, fraud prevention)
• To respond to your support requests

3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR Article 6)

• Contract - processing purchase and delivering CSV exports
• Consent - sending marketing emails to the daily digest list (you can unsubscribe anytime)
• Legitimate interest - basic analytics to understand site usage, spam/fraud prevention, listing publicly announced funding information relevant to business intelligence
• Legal obligation - tax records retention, VAT reporting

4. Sharing Your Data

We share personal data only with the third-party services required to operate the Service:

• Stripe (payment processing) - USA/Ireland, SCC-compliant
• Google (Analytics 4) - USA, SCC-compliant, IP-anonymized
• Vercel (hosting) - USA, SCC-compliant
• Resend (transactional email) - USA, SCC-compliant

We do NOT sell your personal data or share it for advertising purposes.

5. Data Retention

• Email subscriber list: until you unsubscribe
• Purchase records: 7 years (required by Dutch tax law)
• Server logs: 30 days
• Support emails: 2 years
• Analytics data: 14 months (GA4 default)

6. Cookies

We use the minimum cookies necessary to operate the Service:

• Functional cookies - remember your theme preference (light/dark) and whether you dismissed the email signup prompt. First-party, no tracking
• Analytics cookies - Google Analytics 4 (`_ga`, `_ga_*`) - anonymized, aggregate-only

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or session replay tools.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are in the EU, UK, or EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access - request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification - ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten") - ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention obligations
• Restriction - ask us to limit processing while a dispute is resolved
• Portability - receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection - object to processing based on legitimate interest
• Withdraw consent - unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime

8. Founders Listed on the Service

If you are a founder or company representative listed on FundedStartupsDaily and wish to have your information corrected or removed, please email hello@fundedstartupsdaily.com with the company name and the change requested. We will process removal requests within 30 days. Note that we may retain minimal records to prevent re-adding the same public information in future data refreshes.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest (via Vercel and Stripe), and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify affected users and the relevant supervisory authority within 72 hours as required by GDPR.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes affecting how we process your data, we will notify subscribers by email.
